High school graduation serves as a significant indicator of both how well our schools are performing and whether youth are being prepared to meet their potential. A diploma is a basic step in continuing one's education and/or obtaining quality employment. Conversely, youth that do not finish high school often have a difficult time finding employment beyond lower-paying jobs. The goal of State, community and education leaders is for every Florida student to complete high school and obtain a diploma. As the education system improves the number who graduate will continue to rise.
